KSA: Toastmaster Mohammed Al Qahtani to Compete in Public Speaking at Las Vegas

KSA:  The only advanced club of eastern province Al Awal Advanced Toastmasters held a special meeting on Sunday, 2 August 2015 at Al-Jude Village, Jubail to enable District 79 Conference speech contest champion Toastmaster Mohammed Al Qahtani to dry-run two of his final and semi-final speeches to be evaluated, polished and tuned further.

He is representing Saudi Arabia (District 79) and competing for the World Championship in Public Speaking in Las Vegas, USA to be held on 12- 15 August.

The special meeting was opened by Sergeant at Arms TM Abdullah Khalili by reading the mission statement of Toastmasters International and introducing the Presiding officer DTM Shameer Ahmed Kudroli.

The president addressed the gathering by emphasizing a famous quote from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, “A dream is not that you see while sleeping, it is something that doesn’t allow you to sleep” and encouraged the august gathering to dream high to achieve more in life.

This is the first time in the history of Jubail Toastmasters fraternity that a representative of Saudi Arabia has been selected at the International Convention to deliver semifinal and final speeches in Al-Awal Advanced Toastmasters Club.

Most of the toastmaster leaders of Jubail Fraternity offered every possible opportunity for TM Mohammed Qahtani to improve his championship speeches and bring the world championship to District-79, Saudi Arabia.

The panel of evaluators comprised of very experienced and talented Toastmasters like DTM Suresh Kumar, TM N V Arasu, TM Asif Ali Siddiqui lead by DTM Jacob Kuriakose. The audience also offered helpful feedback for elevating his speech further.

Well known Toastmasters from Dammam/Dhahran/Aramco fraternity TM Nashid Abdul Khaaliq, DTM Akanke Abdul Khaaliq, eminent guests and distinguished toastmasters attended the meeting to encourage and support TM Mohammed in his journey towards the World Championship.

At the end, on behalf of Al-Awal excom and members, honorable President DTM Shameer Ahmed thanked all the dignitaries, members, guests and panel of evaluators for their presence and valuable inputs to help TM Mohammed.

Al Awal Advanced Club Executive Committee comprises of President DTM Shameer Ahmed Kudroli, VP of Education TM Abdullah Khalili, VP of Membership TM Juan Roy, VP of Public Relations TM VCS Nair, Secretary TM Fahad Al Nasser, Treasurer TM Zainuddin and Sergeant at Arms TM Waheed Latif.

  1. What a joy and pride to learn that Mohamed Al-Qahttani is going to represent District 79 at the Toastmasters International Convention at Las Vegas during August 12 thru 15. A warm welcome awaits Mohamed Alqahtani, and we wish him best of success. Saudi Arabia has lot to offer in this world of leadership. Mohamed Alqahttani also represent a vast and reputable family of Al-Qahanis who are entrepreneurial and forward looking in all their undertakings in the Kingdom and beyond.

    Congratulations to you, Mr. Mohamed Alqahtani. May you shine not only in Las Vegas but also far and beyond the realm of leadership that will benefit the world thru your continued leadership.
