KSC Bahrain Holds Konkan IDOL 2017 contest

Bahrain: Karnataka Social Club-Bahrain held the Konkan Idol 2017 contest, a singing competition in Konkani to promote the language among the youngsters of the club, like many of its fellow organisations in Bahrain.

A total of 20 children between the ages of 4 and 18 took part in a keenly contested competition displaying a flair for the language amidst the cheer of the audience.


The judges for event Menino Fernandes and Priya Rodrigues, both extremely competent in their fields with a music background conceded that though everyone couldn’t make it to the top 2 places nevertheless it was a close contest and applauded the spirit of the youngsters.

The winner in the 4-8 yrs category was Delisha Fernandes while in the second spot was Roville Sequeira. The 8-12 yrs category winner was Ayona Rodrigues while in second place was Alston Fernandes. The 12-18 yrs age group winner was Shreyal Vaz while close in second place was Larina Quadros. Prizes for the individual categories were handed over by members of the Executive committee.
