Kundapur: 19-year-old Girl Raped and Murdered at Karikodlu, Accused Arrested

Kundapur: A young girl has been allegedly raped and murdered at Karikodlu here on October 1, night.

The girl has been identified as Suchithra Naik (19), a resident of Karikodlu. She was the daughter of Govind Naik and was working in a hardware shop.

According to police, On October 1, Suchithra did not return home after work. They tried to contact her through her mobile phone but she did not recieve the call. The family members along with the neighbours started to search for her. When they were searching they found the body in a sack in the forest area.

They found injuries on Suchithra’s body. It is suspected that she was raped and later killed with a sharp weapon.

Her mobile phone was also missing. When they dialed the number, it was ringing. While tracing the mobile, the police were able to find the culprit and arrest him.

The arrested person has been identified as Manikanta. A case has been registered in the Shankaranarayana Police station. Police have also recovered Suchithra’s mobile phone from Manikanta’s possession.
