Kundapur: Gold ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh stolen from Saukuru Durgaparameshwari Temple

Kundapur: Valuables worth Rs 10 lakh were stolen from Saukuru Durgaparameshwari Temple in Kundapur Taluk late night on August 14.

The incident came to light in the morning when the temple priest came to the temple and saw the main door of the temple broken. He rushed inside the temple and found that the golden idol of Durgaparameshwari worth Rs 10 lakh and silver ornaments worth of Rs 10,000 were stolen. Immediately, the temple priest informed the police.

DySP Kundapur Manjunath Shetty, CPI P M Divakar, SI Nasir Hussain along with a canine squad and fingerprint experts visited the spot.

A case has been registered in the Kundapur Police Station.
