Kundapur: The Kundapur Police arrested two persons on December 3 in connection with the murder of one, Usha from Japthi Belve Gumma hola.
The arrested have been identified as Vishawnath Naik (34) and Karunakar Shetty (46), both are residents of Belve.
According to the police, Vishwanath Naik and Usha were friends. It is suspected that some financial issue led to the murder of Usha.
On November 30, an unidentified body was found under mysterious circumstances near River bank of Seetha at Belve. The body was found in a decomposed state. The police initially registered the case under unnatural death. After investigation, the identity was confirmed as Usha, who was missing from Belve since November 23.
The police informed the family members to identify the body and they confirmed the identity of Usha. In this connection, the police had taken Vishwanath and Karunakar Shetty to custody for further investigation.
During the interrogation both revealed that they had killed Usha over a financial issue. After the crime, they had fled with the gold ornaments and cash belonging to Usha.
