Kundapur: The Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishat staged a protest to condemn the brutal murder of Bajrang dal activist Prashant Poojary, at the Shastri Circle here on October 18.
Addressing the protesters VHP president Suprasad Shetty said that, on October 9, our activist Prashant Poojary was brutally murdered in front of his flower shop. But the Youth affairs and sports minister Abhaychandra Jain being in Moodbidri did not visit the victim’s house to console his family members which the BD and VHP strongly condemns.
He further said that the minister could have atleast visited Prashant’s house to meet his parents and family members, but there is no single word nor there is any sympathy shown by the minister. We will stage protests against minister Abhaychandra Jain, if he will participate in any programmes in Moodibidri, he warned.
We have demanded the state government to release compensation of Rs 25 lakh to Prashant’s family but the congress government is showing anti hindu policy. If the government will not compensatae Prashant’s family, activists of BD and VHP will contribute their mite and support Prashant’s family. In the coming days we will intensify our protest against the attacks on Hindu youth. We will also fight against the cow slaughter and love jihad. We have tolerated enough when our cows were stolen from the goshalas, he said.
Santosh Shetty, Kishore Kumar, Prakash Mendon, Vasudev Bhat and others were also present.
