Land Dispute ends in Murder, 2 arrested
Ujire: A man has been stabbed to death by two persons over a property dispute, near S R Bar, Beltangady here on November 30.
The deceased has been identified as Annu (35), a resident of Ujire and mason by profession. The accused have been identified as Girish (29) and Venkatesh (30), both from Ujire.
According to the police, Annu was owning a land near SR Bar. On November 30, night when Annu was buying chocolates for his child, all of a sudden his neighbour Girish and Venkatesh came on a bike and stabbed him, Annu died on the spot. Soon after the crime, Girish and Venkatesh fled from the spot.
As soon as the police were informed, Sub Inspector Ravi got into action and arrested Girish and Venkatesh near the Janardhan Temple, Ashwathakatte, Ujire.
The dispute on land was going on from the past 15 – 20 years with frequent fights between Girish and Annu which, on November 30 ended in the murder of Annu.
