The Championship will continue in Bangalore from the 10th to 12th August at the Citi Nest Sports Centre, Indiranagar, following which it will hit Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi and Mumbai respectively for Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 age groups for both boys and girls. The finale will be held in Bangalore in September.

“I am always asked the age-old question of why can’t India produce more international athletes and medal winners? I believe the answer is – The lack of access and opportunities to play in competitive tournaments. LeapStart firmly believes in the development of grass roots sport and providing such platforms is fundamental to our model”, says Dhruv Nagarkatti, CEO, LeapStart.

LeapStart is the only private company to conduct a National Badminton championship in India of this scale. This tournament provides a platform for children to compete nationally, against talent from other regions. The growing appreciation for the game of badminton amongst youngsters and the sheer number of children now pursuing it at a competitive level have propelled the need to create further opportunities in this game.
