Los Angeles, Feb 16 (IANS) Actor Leonardo Dicaprio has paid $95,000 to go on an expedition with an explorer in Mongolia.

The 41-year-old actor, who is among the frontrunners for the Best Actor trophy at the Oscars for “The Revenant”, is set to embark on a 10-day journey to Lake Hovsgol, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

“When I do these trips. I take people out of their comfort zone in terms of the inner journey and get them doing things they normally wouldn’t do,” New York Post quoted Swedish explorer Johan Ernst Nilson, who will lead the expedition as saying.

“If you push your limits, the reward will be much higher. It’s going to be amazing,” he added.

Orlando Bloom supports Katy Perry at pre-Grammy event

Actor Orlando Bloom had added fuel to rumours of his romance with Katy Perry when the he supported the singer at a pre-Grammy event here.

Perry hosted Creators Party in association with Spotify at Cicada restaurant on February 13, and Bloom, who is reported to be dating the star, attended to show his support.

“It’s really sweet. The party is for music producers and artistes only but Orlando showed up a bit later and they’re together,” people.com quoted a source as saying.

Have lot of expectations from ‘Sultan’: Aamir Khan

Superstar Aamir Khan on Monday said that he is eagerly awaiting Salman Khan’s next film “Sultan” and has lot of expectations from it.

“Salman’s films are always good, so I have lot of expectations from ‘Sultan’. Like how all wait with bated breaths for his films, I too wait for it. Definitely it’ll be a very good film,” said Aamir at the screening of Sonam Kapoor’s film “Neerja”.

Salman plays a wrestler from Haryana in “Sultan”, also starring Aamir’s “PK” heroine Anushka Sharma. Incidentally, Aamir too plays a wrestler in his next film “Dangal”.

While Salman earlier shared pictures with a moustache, he has been recently sharing pictures with his clean-shaven look. Aamir had also shared pictures of him with grey hair and overweight physique. But he is all set to lose the excess flab.

About his physique in “Dangal”, he said, “(It’s) Not like ‘3 Idiots’, but similar to ‘Ghajini’. I gained 25 kilos in 6 months and the shooting of my overweight self has been completed. The same character is younger in the beginning of the film when he is a national champion wrestler like Sushil Kumar ji.”

“I’ve been working hard on that look, it’ll take 4-6 months to get there,” Aamir said.

“Sultan” is slated for an Eid release while “Dangal” is set for a Christmas release this year.

 Daniel Craig to quit James Bond role for ‘Purity’?

Actor Daniel Craig, who has portrayed the legendary James Bond role for nearly a decade, may leave the character for a character in American television Series “Purity”.

Craig won’t have time to reprise his role as the secret agent as “Purity”, which will be the adaptation of Jonathan Franzen’s novel, is expected to run for several series, reports dailymail.co.uk.

Earlier, the actor had dropped hints of bidding goodbye to James Bond prior to the release of the franchise’s 24th instalment “Spectre” last year.

“I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists. No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on,” Craig was quoted by The Sun newspaper as saying.

However, Craig had recently claimed that he may not be able to leave just yet as he had signed a contract that requires him to make another film.

TV personality Rob Kardashian showered model Blac Chyna with gifts, including a painting with the lyrics from John Legend’s “The beginning”, on Valentine’s Day.

Blac also explained the significance of the painting via a video.

Rihanna cancels Grammy performance

Singer Rihanna, who was slated to perform at the 58th annual Grammy Awards here, has cancelled her appearance.

The “Umbrella” hitmaker singer arrived at the Staples Centre here on Monday, but did not walk the red carpet. She went to rehearsals and left.

According to sources, Rihanna has been struggling with bronchitis and is on medication, reports tmz.com

A doctor reportedly warned the singer that performing could permanently damage her vocal chords.

She was going to sing “Kiss Me Better”. She even rehearsed twice but in the end the show just could not go on.

Lady Gaga pays tribute to David Bowie at Grammy’s

Singer Lady Gaga remembered late singer David Bowie with a sprawling tribute, while performing a medley of his hit songs at the 58th annual Grammy Awards.

Gaga donned Bowie-inspired make-up, bright red hair and an elaborate white outfit as she sang Bowie’s most memorable singles including “Space oddity”, “Changes”, “Ziggy stardust”, “Suffragette city”, “Rebel, rebel”, “Fashion”, “Fame”, “Let’s dance”, “Heroes” and “Under pressure”.

This year’s Grammy Awards took place at the Staples Centre here on Monday.

Bowie passed away last month, just two days after his 69th birthday.

At the end of the performance, a photograph of Bowie appeared on the screen behind Gaga as she gave a spirited spin.

Gaga has long cited Bowie has an inspiration. Ahead of her performance, she shared a video on her Instagram while preparing her make-up, shredding a single tear while listening to Bowie’s “Blackstar” of his album of the same name.

“The world loves you David,” she wrote in the caption.

Miguel pays tribute to Michael Jackson at Grammy’s

Singer Miguel paid tribute to the “King of Pop” Michael Jackson at the 58th annual Grammy Awards here.

With Jackson’s album “Off the Wall” getting a reissue this year, Miguel took the stage here at the Staples Centre on Monday to perform “She’s out of my life”.

Miguel was joined by the song’s original keyboard player Greg Phillinganes.

During Miguel’s performance, a video of Jackson singing the song was being played behind him.

Noting that it has been 35 years since Jackson won his first Grammy, Miguel also pointed out that Spike Lee — who previously directed a documentary about Jackson’s seminal “Bad” album — was releasing an “Off the Wall” documentary this year.
