Madikeri: At a general session of the zilla panchayat held in the fort auditorium earlier this week, Kodagu ZP president Chodumada Shareen Subbaiah expressed her grouse over the state goverment’s policy of appointing such officials to key posts in the district as those left with a few months for superannuation.
Complaining that when such officials due to retire in a few months were appointed, there would be frequent breaks in continuity in development and it would be difficult to get work done from them.
She regretted that the state government showed an attitude of neglect towards the district. She cited the examples of recent appointments to vital posts like ZP’s chief planning officer and deputy secretary with officials due to retire soon.
Within months of introducing themselves and taking over, they would retire and leave. In such circumstances, it would be difficult to expect any work of consistency and continuity from them, she lamented.
