Maids’ rape: Protest held outside Saudi Arabian embassy

New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS) About 60 members of the All India Women’s Democratic Association (AIWDA) on Thursday protested outside the Saudi Arabian embassy here to protest against the alleged rape of two Nepali women by a Saudi Arabian diplomat.

They demanded that the Saudi diplomat’s immunity be revoked and legal action taken against him.

“We demand action against the Saudi diplomat and that his diplomatic immunity must be revoked. The whereabouts of 30 other women held captive by Saudi nationals should also be traced,” said AIWDA secretary Sahiba.

A diplomat at the Saudi Arabian embassy in New Delhi and some unidentified persons were booked on charges of rape, gang rape and illegal confinement by Gurgaon Police. His wife and daughter were booked for torturing the domestic helps.

However, the Saudi embassy dismissed the charges as “completely false and contrary to facts in our possession”, and said it would wait for the Indian government to clarify the matter as per the diplomatic norms.

  1. Saudi Arabia, China and North Korea are amazing countries.

When it comes to the U.S.A., they just keep their eyes and mouths shut about the goings on in Saudi Arabia, because Saudis are largest buyer of arms and a dumping ground and ready market for U.S. products. So, why tilt the boat or shoot one’s foot?

Imagine a country flushed with oil money having a medieval mind-set. That is why many Saudis cross the caueway during the weekends (and holidays), where many have rented furnished apartments or stay at seedy hotels, where they caper around, have fun and frolic, do shopping at the Malls. During to draconian laws and regimented life in Saudi, their nationals behave like undisciplined people when they go outside the country.

  2. Regarding the raping and molesting of Nepali housemaids, the Saudi authorities will be in a state of denial.

The Ministry of External Affairs should declare this diplomat as a persona non-grata and shunt him off. That is the best India could do in this regard.

Saudi Arabia is the best place for hard cases like Batlibois to rehabilitate and become sober.

Sir,At the same time many God fearing people take to Holy places of Mecca and Madina. One is responsible for his own deeds and answerable on the day of judgement to the Almighty.

How can we stop some on going to Las Vegas and drag him to Vatican?

The center government is failed in its diplomacy. It should learn from previous government when French consulate officer arrested for allegedly raping daughter.
