Malpe Youth Render Financial support to Soldiers

Udupi: Tiger dance, the specialized folk dance of this region known as Hulivesha, is these days being customized to highlight social causes, and is no longer just a matter of dressing up like a tiger and moving to the drum beats.
The tiger dance attracts people of all ages, especially during Krishna Janmashtami at Udupi, and the dancers use this to their advantage.
The Malpe Youth Organisation ‘Samarpana 2016’ has raised funds for soldiers who have died or are injured in the border in the exchange of fire.
A team of 35 youth performed Huli Vesha during the Krishna Janmashtami and Vittal Pindi festivals on August 24 and 25 and collected money for the welfare of the soldiers.
The collected money was distributed at the Malpe bus-stand in a formal function on August 28. The programme began with Vande Mataram. Karunakar Bangera welcomed the gathering. Retired Solider M K Kumar Thottam inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
Families of eleven soldiers across Karnataka namely Ramanna K Mattolli, Late Khan Sab Agasimane, Late Bharamanna Shinde, Late Bharamappa S Parasannavar, Late Shanker Bahu Nadivale, Late Basaveshwar S Udagatti, Late Ningappa Kemdoor, Late Ramasiddappa B Shetty, Late Upendra Malpe, Nagappa Kalakappa and Late Shridhar Shetty were honoured with cash of Rs 1 Lakh each, fruits, and memento.
The association also provided financial help to two special schools namely Asha Nilaya Udupi and Spandana special School Santhekatte on the occasion.
Rakshith Kotian, president of ‘Samarpana 2016 team said that our Soldiers are struggling on the borders for us. Our team decided to help the families of those soldiers who have died or have been wounded guarding the nation. They performed Hulivesha to help the families of our brave soldiers and every citizen of Udupi and Malpe have supported the good cause.
Pramod Madhwaraj district minister in-charge in his message applauded the efforts and selfless service of the youth of Malpe in helping the soldiers families. We should always be grateful and thank all those who are guarding our borders in extremely adverse conditions, spending sleepless nights so that we can all sleep safely in our homes in peace. Soldiers fight on our borders; We citizens of India wholeheartedly thank them and their families who support them and their loved ones so that we can live peacefully, he added.
Entrepreneurs Dr G Shanker, Yashpal Suvarna, Sadhu Salian, Hariyappa Kotian, Sudhakar Kundar, Yashodhar Ameen, Nagaraj Suvarana, Dayananda Kundar, Musthaq Malpe, Fhayaz Malpe, Ramesh Kotian, Advocate Baikdai Suprasad Shetty, Samsksar Bharathi’s Adarsh Gokhale and others were present.

I REALLY wish we had such ‘pili-vesha’ contributions DURING the time you did padhrad to Yumreeka? AT least, you would have stayed back and created something like Apple or Google from your backyard in Jalligudde/Yedapadav. Sigh! India’s loss is Yumreeka’s gain. 🙁
On the other hand, hey.. when I come to think of it, maybe some lads did INDEED ‘do’ pili-vesha when they saw you board your ‘manji’ at Bunder and start-off your long long voyage towards the ‘Yumreekas’. They must have thought – Yumreeka’s ‘loss’ is India’s GAIN. 🙂 🙂
