Siddalinga Shetty (55), a farmer who had gone in search of his cows which had gone to graze, was killed in a mysterious gunfire in Ujjini Karadikhan in Chikkamagaluru taluk on Thursday evening.
As usual, his cattle had gone to the forest edges but had not returned. When he was looking for them, a bullet from an unidentified source hit him.
As he fell to the ground screaming, residents from nearby places came running. They found him already dead.
