Man held for murder of Bangladeshi freedom fighter

Dhaka, Oct 7 (IANS) Police have arrested a suspected Islamist for the murder of a freedom fighter who embraced Christianity in Bangladesh, the media reported on Friday.

Golam Rabbabni, 22, of the Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh was detained in Fatullah town on charges of murdering Hossain Ali in Kurhigram district, Bdnews24 reported.

Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tabarak Ullah was quoted as saying that Rabbani, a college student, was the 12th person to be arrested in the case.
