Man Rescued in Suicide Bid at Sasihitlu Seashore

Mangaluru: Nagesh (45), a resident of Pavanje, was rescued by a team of home guards from Mulki after he tried to end his life by jumping into the sea at Sasihitlu in the early hours of Tuesday.

The security guard at fishmeal plant nearby spotted him and he informed others. They contacted Haneef of Mulki who is a home guard and a skilled swimmer. He and his team rescued Nagesh. He was found breathing faintly.

After being given first aid, he was taken to the Suratkal police station, where his mother and brother were asked to come. They informed that Nagesh had been undergoing depression. He was then taken to a hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment.

The quick action on the part of the home guard in saving the life of Nagesh has been commended by the police.
