Mangaluru: 11-year-old Boy from Sirsi Found Begging near Nehru Maidan Rescued

Mangaluru: A concerned member of the public noticed a boy of 11 years found begging in the company of his mother and other relatives at the State Bank of India bus terminus near Nehru maidan.

They were found distributing pamphlets looking for alms. The citizen alerted the Childline personnel and they, assisted by children’s protection cell, took the boy into their custody and handed him to children welfare committee. He has been temporarily rehabilitated pending final decision.

Yogish Malligemadu, Revati, Jayanti, Nazeer Ahmed and others from both teams took part in the operation.
