Mangaluru: 22-year-old Pick-pocket Stabbed to death Near Taluk Office

Mangaluru:  A pick-pocket was stabbed to death near the Taluk Office here, on June 3.

The deceased has been identified as Ranjit (22), a resident of Ullal. Ranjit is said to be a pick pocket.


According to sources, Ranjit was near the Taluk Office opposite the Nehru Maidan when a man stabbed him. Ranjit, who was severely injured managed to reach near a canteen near Taluj office to save himself. He was rushed to the government Wenlock hospital, where the doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.


The attacker has been identified as Dhanu. After attacking Ranjit, Dhanu fled from the scene.

Police Commissioner S Murugan and the Pandeshwar Police Inspector along with his team reached the spot for further investigation.

A case has been registered in the Pandeshwar Police Station.
