Mangaluru: 23-year-old Maid from Odisha Goes Missing from Convent in Falnir

Mangaluru: A complaint has been filed at the Bunder police station by Sr Ritika of St Mary’s Convent in Falnir in the city regarding a housemaid having gone missing.

It states that Benita (23), hailing from Mohana of Gajapati district in Odisha, who had been employed in the convent, had left with her friends Savitri of Madhya Pradesh, Deepa of Odisha and Cecilia of Mangaluru, on the pretext of going to Milagres church, around 4-15 pm on Saturday, Oct 3.

Half way through, Benita and Deepa reportedly visited a textile outlet in Falnir. After some time, Benita told Deepa to go ahead and that she would join her in the church later.

According to the complaint, Benita had neither gone to church nor had returned to the convent thereafter.

The police have requested that if her whereabouts are known the following numbers be contacted: Mangaluru south police station 0824 2220518 or control room 0824 2220500.
