Mangaluru: 27-year-old Podi Vijeth Hacked to Death at Moodshedde

Mangaluru:  A 27-year-old man was hacked to death at Shivanagar, Moodushedde here, on October 29.

The deceased has been identified as Vijeth (27), a resident of Moodushedde.

According to the police, on the evening of October 28, when Vaman Poojary came back home after work at 6 pm, his son Podi Vijeth had gone out. On October 29, at around 1 am, his neighbour Uday came to Vaman’s house and asked him to go with him to Shivanagar Junction. When they were on their way to Shivanagar, Uday told him that some miscreants had assaulted Vijeth. When they reached the spot at Shivanagar, they saw Vijeth’s body in a pool of blood.

Vijeth was involved in many cases, in 2012 he was arrested in a Gas theft case in Moodushedde, in 2013 he was involved in an assault on Ansar along with Sharan, who is currently in jail, and in 2015, the Arafat and Raghavendra assault cases.

A case has been registered in the Kavoor police station and search is on for the killers.

  1. When is our Kateel MP going to ask for Rs.25 lakh compensation to the dead man’s family from the state government? The government has unlimited supply of money, funded of course by the tax payers. While you are at it please also demand for a CBI probe as the state government could be complicit in this murder.
