Mangaluru: On special request from Govt. of India, Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru had initiated 40 weeks- Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan on 1st February 2015. Thanks to the coordinated dedicated efforts of volunteers 20 drives went on successfully in different parts of the city. A break was given due to the onset of Monsoon and the 2nd phase will be beginning on 2nd October 2015.
Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru has organized Varna Rupa – Art camp in the Ashrama on the 2nd October. This camp will be inaugurated by J R Lobo, MLA in the presence of Dr M Mohan Alva and Swami Jitakamanandaji at 9:30 am on 2nd October. About 30 reputed artists of Dakshina Kannada & Udupi Dist will be unleashing their talents on the theme, “Swacch Manas – Swacch Bharat – Shreshta Bharath”. This camp will conclude on 3rd October at 5:30 pm. K Lakshminarayan, GGM, MRPL will be the Chief Guest in the event.
2nd Phase of Swacch Mangaluru will begin at Karangalpady (Near Leo Furniture) at about 7:30 am on the 4th October 2015. Swami Muktidanandaji, Trustee, Ramakrishna Math & Mission, will be inaugurating the programe by lighting the lamp. Jacintha Vijay Alfred, Mayor, MCC and Sri Kumar H, MD, MRPL, will be flagging off the cleanliness Drive. Several eminent personalities like K Lakshminarayan, GGM, MRPL, Vasudev M R Former Director of Mangaluru Airport, Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Sahyadri Education Foundation, Mangalore, Prakash Salian, Premananda Shetty will be present during the occasion. Capt. Ganesh Karnik and Dilraj Alva will be handing over 20 weeks Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan report to MRPL on behalf of Ramakrishna Mission.
We have also organized a seminar on Swacch Bharath on the theme, “Cleanliness: Internal & External” on the 4th October at about 9:00 am. The seminar will be inaugurated by Swami Muktidanandaji Maharaj, Trustee, Ramakrishna Mission. Sri Kumar, MD, MRPL, will be present as chief guest. Swami Veereshananda Saraswathi, President, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashrama, Tumkur, Prof. Nandan Prabhu, Manipal University, Prof. Raghotham Rao, Director, Human Networking Academy, Bangalore will be the resource persons who will be interacting with the delegates.
