Mangaluru: 3 Cattle-lifters Nabbed in Talapady – Two Escape, Materials Seized

Mangaluru: Irshad (30) of Chembugudde, Imran (24) of Chembugudde and Muttalib (35) of Kalkatta in Manjanady were arrested by the Ullal police in a late-night operation.

There were in a Tavera car to lift stray cattle from the roadside at Talapady near the Kerala boundary around 3-30 am on Tuesday. They were found to have been using car with a fake number-plate.

They have reportedly been involved in the theft of goats, cows and sheep for some time. Before their arrest, they were attempting to lift the cattle from a house by threatening the occupants.

Sharp weapons, chilli powder, rope and other materials meant for assault were seized from them.

Two others are said to have escaped during the raid.

The police from Konaje also took part in the operation.
