Mangaluru: 6-month Jail Term for Nude-filming, Blackmail of Woman with Promise of Job

Mangaluru: The sixth additional district and sessions court has sentenced Ashok (38) of Mittabail Kodyadka of Puttige village near Moodbidri to six months’ jail-term and imposed a penalty of Rs 30,000.

He was charged with luring a young woman with a promise of employment and taken her nude pictures in a hotel. Then he had blackmailed her and also shown those pictures to her neighbours. The family of the young woman came to know about and they had filed a complaint against him in Moodbidri police station in 2010.

Magistrate D T Puttarangaswamy has handed out the sentence as follows:

Three months for breach of trust

Six months for giving threat, six months under section 66e IT Act, to be undergone concurrently, and also a fine of Rs15,000
Two months’ jail for failure to pay fine
Six months’ jail under section 67a of IT Act and a fine of Rs 25,000
Of the fine amount, Rs 35,000 to be paid to the victim as compensation
