Abhayachandra Seeks Rs 15 Crore to Set up Top-class Aquarium in City

Mangaluru: State minister of youth empowerment and fisheries K Abhayachandra Jain announced here on Sunday that a budgetary sanction for Rs 15 crore would be sought to set up a state-of-the-art aquarium n the city.

He was speaking at the concluding session of Matsya Mela held here. He revealed that the chief minister would be convening a pre-budgetary meeting during the coming week. He would place a demand for a grant of Rs 15 crore for the aquarium.

In a lighter vein, Jain said that he was not a fish-eater, yet would not stay away from the fish festival. On the other hand, he gave ‘clean’ lead to the department of fisheries.
