Mangaluru: On Wednesday night, an attempt was made on the life of Sandeep of Jeppu Kudupadi by a gang, by using swords.
The Pandeshwar police have arrested Kaushik (20) of Shivanagar, Pandeshwar, Abhishek (20), Nikhil Shetty (19) of Santekatte Udupi, Shreyas Rao (21) of Jalligudde in Padil, Prasad (23) of Jeppu Gujjarkere and Nitesh S Shetty aka Nitu (19) of Mangala Nagar, Mangaladevi on Saturday.
Personal rivalry is said to be the motive behind the murder. Many residents have heaved a sigh of relief that the incident did not flare-up, esp., since Sandeep is a Hindu Jagarana Vedike leader.
The arrested were produced in court and were remanded to judicial custody.
