Mangaluru: Bannanje Raja Being Sent Back to Hindalaga Jail in Belagavi

Mangaluru: Bannanje Raja, fugitive underworld don who was extradited from Morocco a few months ago, was under interrogation by the city police with the permission of the court over the past few days.

With the police custody period, as approved by the court, had elapsed, he is being sent back to the Hindalaga jail in Belagavi.

He had been brought to the city on Dec 30 in connection with a shootout attempt on an entrepreneur near Kadri park a few years ago.

The JMFC court II where he was produced granted custody of five days at Kadri station for shootout, four days at Pandeshwar station in P B D’Sa murder attempt case and four days at Barke station in connection with fake passport case.

Police sources said that he was being taken to Belagavi under heavy security.
