Mangaluru: Bar-owner, Two Others Arrested for Allegedly Abusing and Assaulting Cop on Duty

Mangaluru: Manoj Kumar (33), owner of Yashraj Bar at the Avery junction on Falnir Road, its manager Sundar (49) and supervisor Ashok (36) were arrested by the Bunder police for obstructing the police while on duty and allegedly assaulting them.

The bar was kept open for business beyond the approved hours. Bunder assistant sub inspector Nagesh and his men went there and asked them to down the shutters for violating the rules.

The three men reacted violently by abusing the officer and his team. They also tried to assault them.

A case of verbal and physical violence and obstruction to duty has been filed against the trio. They were arrested and produced before the court. They have been sent to judicial custody.
