Mangaluru: Bike-rider Duo Trails Entrepreneur, Snatches Bag with Cash and Valuables

Mangaluru: Two men riding a motorbike relieved an entrepreneur of his bag containing cash and valuables near the Umamaheshwari temple in Kapikad near Ullal on Saturday night.

Chandrashekhar, who runs his business in Bunder, had locked his shop late in the evening and, as usual, was carrying the cash collections for the day in a bag. He took a bus towards home and got down at Kapikad.

As he set out on foot, two men arrived in a bike, threatened him and reportedly snatched the bag from his hand and sped away. The bag contained about Rs 1 lakh in cash, his voter ID, PAN card and other records.

It is suspected to be the act of persons who were very well aware of his daily routine and practice of carrying the cash collected on the day in the bag homewards.

For quite some time, the bike is said have trailed the bus in which Chandrashekhar had travelled from the city towards Ullal.

The Ullal police have registered a case.
