Mangaluru: Bike-rider injured in Collision with Car near KPT Dies in Hospital

Mangaluru: Harshit (21) of Yeyyadi, had been critically injured when his bike had collided with a car at Sharbatkatte near the Karnataka Polytechnic institute on Tuesday.

His condition did not improve and he breathed his last on Friday. Eyewitnesses had said that instead of wearing the helmet on his head, he held it in his hand while riding. This may have made the movement of his difficult when he met with a difficult situation of collision.

A case has been registered at the Kadri police station. The traffic police have said that this should serve as a warning to all riders that the helmets are meant for the protection of the riders and not just to fulfil the mandatory requirement when the cops are around.
