Mangaluru: Boy Found Begging around Rescued by Childline, Handed to CWC

Mangaluru: A boy of 12 was found begging in the city by Childline Mangaluru with the help of other departmental officials on Tuesday.

A group of nomadic people have reportedly camped near the central railway station and have been indulging in begging during the past months. Their areas of activity are road signal points, bus stands, central market and State Bank bus terminus.

The boy was produced before the Children’s Welfare Committee, which has provided him with temporary accommodation.
