Mangaluru: Butterfly Park in Pilikula

Mangaluru: Dr K V Rao, Director of Pilikula Regional Science Centre said that a butterfly park with species of the Western Ghats will soon come up at the Dr Shivarama Karantha Biodiversity Park in Pilikula.

He was speaking on ‘Concept Pilikula’ which was organised by the Mangalore Management Association at SDM PG Centre for Management Studies and Research. He also said that a rearing centre for injured and orphaned wild animals and birds will be set up at Pilikula. The civil work of Vivekananda Planetarium is almost complete. This planetarium will be the first of its kind in Coastal Karnataka. The cost of the project was Rs 24.50 crore and is equipped with a 15-metre diameter dome with Hybrid systems. An e-tendering process is also in progress towards an innovation hub, he said.
