Mangaluru: CCB Police Arrest Five Youth for Crime Plot – Weapons Seized

Mangaluru: The CCB police have arrested five people from Joseph Nagar when they were attempting to loot people here on July 30.

The arrested have been identified as Santosh Kumar (19), a resident of St Joseph Nagar Jeppu, Gautam (19), resident of Yekkur Nadiguthu Compound Kankanady, Nitin Kumar (24) from Subhash Nagar first cross Pandeshwar, Dheeraj (24) from Ganadagudde, Padil and Dhanaraj (19) from Ganadagudde Padil.

On July 30, all the five were moving around in a Scorpio bearing registration number KA 19-D-8576 in a suspicious manner at St Joseph Nagar entrance, Valencia. The police on getting reliable information, raided the spot and took all the five into custody, they seized 2 machetes, Iron Rod, three mobile phones and the Scorpio.

One of the arrested, Santosh Kumar was involved in a kidnap case in 2014 along with other group members Sarfraz, Sharukh and Asif and a case was registered in the South police station. In this case Santosh was arrested by the police and sent to Judicial custody for four months.

It is learnt that the five were planning to loot wealthy people in the locality. The arrested have been handed over to the Kankanady Rural police station for further investigation.

Under the able guidance of Commissioner S Murugan and DCP Shantharaj the team led by CCB Inspector Valentine D’Souza, PSI Shyamsundar and team carried out the operation.
