Mangaluru: Charmadi Resident on Way to Break Ramadan Fast Dies in Mishap

Mangaluru: Riaz (29), a resident of Charmadi village in Beltangady taluk, died in a road mishap involving his bike and an express bus on Saturday.

He was in the city and for the purpose of breaking the fast of Ramadan and receiving the ‘iftar’ meal, he was on his way riding the bike to a relative’s house in Krishnapura.

As reached the Baikampady bridge, his bike was knocked down by an express bus arriving from Udupi towards Mangaluru. Critically injured, he was shifted to a hospital but he is said to have died on the way.

A case has been registered in the north traffic station.
