Mangaluru: Childline Rescues Sholapur Boy who Strayed by Train from Maharashtra

Mangaluru: A 14-year-old boy, who could speak only in Hindi and Marathi, was found looking around for a job to support himself.

The Childline 1098 volunteers enquired of him for his antecedents. He told them that he hailed from Baji Market locality of Sholapur city in Maharashtra. He had left home three months ago and was working in a fast-food canteen in Ratnagiri. He used to take rest in railway stations in the nights.

Apparently he had entered a railway compartment and could not get down in time before the train chugged off. He might have decided to travel further. He got down at the Mangaluru central station and walked to Capitanio looking for a job.

He has been rehabilitated by the child welfare committee of the district.
