Mangaluru: City Crime Branch Police Arrest Bike-lifter with Past Record in Attavar

Mangaluru: Habits die hard, for sure.

A man aged 24, who had already served a three-year sentence in theft cases, was nabbed by the city crime branch police squad led by inspector Valentine D’Souza on Monday.

Haris aka Chandu, a resident of Kasaba Bengare, was found with a bike having no number plate on the rear side by the police in front of the Easy Day store.

On spotting the police, he tried to run away. They surrounded him and on interrogation he confessed that the bike had been stolen by him the southern fishing wharf in Bunder a month ago.

Enquiries revealed that he also faced charges of having stolen goods from two mobile shops. He had served a three-year sentence and come out. Thereafter he was involved in the theft of electronic goods from a warehouse in Goods Shed locality in 2014.
