Mangaluru: Congress Misleading People by Giving False Statements Against BJP –  Palemar

Mangaluru: BJP leader and former District in-charge minister, Krishna J Palemar held a press meet at the press Club Urwa here on February 4.

Addressing the mediapersons Palemar said, “District in-charge minister, Vinay Kumar Sorake, has accused the BJP leaders of sparking the concept of Yettinahole project. He further criticized BJP towards snatching away the Kumki land rights of the farmers. I agree that Yettinahole project was cleared when BJP leader, Sadananda Gowda, was the chief minister of Karnataka, but it was not sanctioned then. Rs 2 crore had been sanctioned in the budget during BJP’s rule for a DPR on the project to study about its feasibility. Just because a DPR is signed, it does not mean that the project was approved. The decision of continuing the project was done by the Congress Party. The wrong decision by the Congress leaders has led the people to get down on the streets. The congress party is misleading the people of the state by giving false statements.”

He further said “Congress had in 2013 promised in the manifesto that they will hand over the rights of Kumki land to the farmers. It was the BJP led Government which had framed an ordinance granting rights of kumki land to the farmers. The BJP had hopes of passing the ordinance by the Congress government and now Vinay Kumar Sorake speaks differently on the issue. He blames BJP for snatching away the rights of farmers, he said.”

“We ask him not to give false statements and mislead the people of the state. Let them give a clear statement, whether they are against the Yettinahole Project or they support it,” he added.
