Mangaluru: Congress Party Observes Sthapana Divas

Mangaluru: Congress Party workers observed the ‘Congress Sthapana Divas’ at the District Congress Office here, on December 28.

MUDA Chairman Ibrahim Kodijal welcomed the gathering. Addressing the party workers, Minister for Environment, Forests and Ecology, Ramanath Rai said, “Congress is my family and it is my religion. The party has struggled for the freedom of this country. The Congress party being secular, also believes in freedom to practice one’s own religion. The Congress party is the only party where all the communities are respected equally. There are some organizations like the ‘Sangh Parivar’ who are trying very hard to spoil the name of the Congress party. However, we will try our best to bring development to this country. I hope we bring peace and harmony to this country in the future and so that all can live happily.”

MLC Ivan D’Souza said, “The Congress has retained consistency under their ruling. Congress has been popular since its inception. The Indian National Congress is based on the principles of upliftment of all sections of the society. The party has also worked for the development of the country. Congress has introduced some of the best schemes and programmes under its rule. Congress party believes in improving the lives of the underprivileged people in the society. We need to join our hands in the development work and follow the examples of our leaders who have sacrificed their lives for the country.”

Congress leader P V Mohan, senior Congress leader Ibrahim Kodijal and other leaders were also present.
