Mangaluru: DC Issues Guidelines on Sale and Bursting of Fire-crackers during Festive Season

Mangaluru: Deputy commissioner and ex-officio district magistrate A B Ibrahim has issued guidelines regarding the sale and bursting of fire-crackers. He announced the instructions at a preparatory meeting held in his office.

1. No crackers or fireworks carrying the images of religious deities or political figures are allowed.

2. Those setting up temporary outlets must obtain licences for which applications should be submitted to the tahsidars before Oct 31.

Those bursting crackers in celebration have been specially asked to take into consideration the presence of infants, senior citizens and ailing persons living in the locality.
