Mangaluru: District Administration to Hold Children’s Festival on 14 and 15 Nov at Pilikula

Mangaluru: A two-day children’s festival will be held at Dr Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama from November 14-15, said deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim in a press meet held at the DC office here, on October 21.

Addressing the mediapersons, DC Ibrahim said that more than 25000 students will take part in the two-day children’s festival. The inauguration will be held at the entrance of the park with children blowing the balloons. Students will be given coupons to get their favorite food items and refreshments. Various eatables such as Biscuits, fried ground nuts and fruits will be hanged in the park so that children can savor their choice.

The DC further said, “On 14 November, we are expecting more and more children to come to the festival and enjoy it. The DDPI will make all the arrangements to bring the children to the Pilikula park on that day. On Sunday, 15 November, the parents should bring their children to the park so that the parents can also have a nice time with their children.”

“It is a unique children’s festival which is being organized to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.”

There will be various competitions for children, and face mask will be provided to all of them. Every child who is taking part in the festival will also get a return gift along with a coupon for refreshments, free of cost. Children will get an opportunity to take part in the traditional games, kite making and flying competition, treasure hunt, magic show and skit competitions. Children will get an opportunity to click their photographs with the background of rocks, sea, Yakshagana, Gomateshawara Temple, etc. They can also exhibit their talents on stage.

There will be ample opportunities for the children to celebrate the Children’s festival on November 14 and 15. The DC urged all the concerned officials to take responsibilities in bringing the children to Pilikula on November 14.

DDPI’s Walter said that all the measures will be taken to bring the children to Pilikula Nisargadhama. District Minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai, Director of Pilikula Biological Park Jayaprakash Bhandary, Executive director S A Prabhakar Sharma,Pilikula Regional Science Director Dr K V Rao, Information officer Khader Shah, DHO Dr Ramakrishna and others were also present.
