Mangaluru: English Vinglish! ‘Syndicate’ spelled as ‘Synidcate’ and other Errors in MU Degree Certificates

Mangaluru: Imagine Mangalore University making way too many errors in the degree certificates issued during its 33rd convocation. The errors were brought to the notice of the media by Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)-according to ABVP the certificate did not mention the A grade accreditation to the university by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Also the word “technology” was missing in the certificates issued to science graduates. The spelling of “Syndicate” was mentioned as “Synidcate”. The date 17 was mentioned as “17 h” instead of “17th”. Regarding the font size used to mention the faculty under which the doctoral degree was awarded is so small which is hardly readable with bare eyes,

When the Vice-Chancellor K Byrappa came to know about this blunder he had expressed his concern to the errors in the degree certificates issued on the convocation day, and has informed that the Registrar (Evaluation) has already been instructed to correct the mistakes and to issue fresh certificates to the concerned students.
