Mangaluru: Explosives Found in Ullal in 2007 – 3 Suspects Produced in City Court

Mangaluru: Three persons connected to the case of detection of explosives in a house in Mukkachery near Ullal in 2007 were produced in city’s III additional sessions court on Aug 6. They are suspected to have links with terrorist organizations, according to the police sources.

While Syed Mohammed Naushad and Ahmed Bava Abubaker were brought by the Mumbai police, Shabbir Bhatkal was produced by the city police.

The Mumbai police brought the duo by train and took them also by train after the court appearance. Shabbir Bhatkal has been lodged in the district jail here where he was brought from.

In 2007, the police from Mumbai and city had jointly conducted a raid on a house in Mukkachery, where explosives were found. Thirteen persons have been named in the case. Riaz Bhatkal, the main accused, and four other accused are at large.

Among the arrested, two hail from Ullal and four from Mangaluru. Of the accused, Faqir Ahmed, Javed Ali, Mohammed Rafiq and Mohammed Ali are out on bail.
