She and her brother S Prabhu, studying in final-year MBBS, have been staying in a rented house in Derebail. She left home on that day around 11-30 am to attend classes but did not return home nor did she go to her native place.

She is the only daughter of Selvaraj from Tamil Nadu. Another son also had studied Medicine in Mangaluru.

Prabhu has filed a complaint in the Kadri police station in this regard. She is of pinkish fair complexion, has a round face and long hair. She wore red churidar, had a gold chain and earrings on and has a small scar on her forehead. She speaks Tamil and English.

Possiblity of abduction is being talked about in some circles but the police have ruled it out since the complaint has not mentioned that angle.
