Mangaluru: FMMC to organize ‘Trend 2015’-a Workshop on ‘Costing of Hospital Services’

Mangaluru: “Health care contributes significantly to a country’s economy. The healthcare industry in India is reckoned to be the engine of the economy in the years to come. Healthcare is one of India’s largest sectors, in terms of revenue and employment and the sector is expanding rapidly. Acknowledging the vast potential of growing healthcare sector and the significance of precise planning and costing of hospital services, The Department of Hospital Administration, Father Muller Medical College, Mangaluru will be organizing a Workshop “Trends 2015”, a signature event organized annually to provide a platform to students to make presentations and hands on work for gaining knowledge in the area of hospital administration. The theme of the workshop will be “Costing Of Hospital Services” said Dr Sudhamathi SM- course coordinator, during a press meet held at Mangalore Press Club.


Shew further said, “Trends 2015 will be inaugurated at 9.30 am by the Chief Guest, Dr Ganapathi P, Director of Mangala Hospital and Mangala Kidney Foundation, Mangaluru in the presence of Rev.Fr. Patrick Rodrigues, Director of Fr Muller Charitable Institutions, Dr. Jayaprakash Alva, Dean, Father Muller Medical College, Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho Administrator of Fr Muller Medical College Hospital, Dr. Sanjeev Rai, Chief of Medical Services. Rev Fr Patrick Rodrigues Director of Fr Muller Charitable Institutions will preside over the function. The resource persons will be Dr Vinod Singh, Founder and Consultant, Hospitech Healthcare Consulting, Bengaluru and Mr Santhosh Kumara B, ACME Quality Consulting, Bengaluru”.


“Five colleges are participating in this workshop as well as delegates from various hospitals and business schools. We hope to bring more inputs and information in the field of hospital planning and costing to meet the requirements of the fast changing health care scenario. The workshop will be held on 27 June 2015 at the Knowledge Centre Hall, FMMC” added De Sudhamathi.
