Mangaluru: Ganja Worth Rs 6 Lakh Transported from Kerala Seized in Train

Mangaluru: The excise officials from the city inspected a train arriving from Kerala at the Kankanady junction station on Monday and detected 22.08 gms of ganja (cannabis).

In the illegal market, it was to fetch Rs 6 lakh, the officials said. The man who brought the consignment is said to have escaped during the raid.

Peddler arrested

Ateem (28) was arrested by the Konaje police in Nettilapadavu of Kairangala village on Monday.

They had information that he regularly supplied ganja to the buyers in Manjanady and Naringana, using his autorickshaw.

He was found possessing 450 gms of the prohibited stuff, which, along with the vehicle, was seized by the police.

He was arrested and produced in court.
