Mangaluru: Green Tribunal in Chennai Declines to Issue Stay on Yettinahole Project

Mangaluru: The Green Bench in Chennai has declined to issue a stay on the Yettinahole project.

An application to this effect had been filed by K N Somashekhar of Paschima Ghatta Samrakshana Horata Samiti citing effects of the project which could spell doom for the two district.

Somashekhar had also contested the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha seat as an independent, to drive home the point, thus making it an exclusive election issue. But he lost the election.

He says he is not disheartened by the tribunal verdict and is currently planning to go in appeal to supreme court.
