Mangaluru: Hindu Outfit Demands Pak-oriented Programmes in Delhi be Called off

Mangaluru: Addressing a media meet here, Hindu Janajagrati Samiti’s state convener Guruprasad sought the cancellation of two programmes ‘Shan-e-Pakistan’ showcasing textile designs from Pakistan and ‘Ek Sham Pakistan ke Naam’ presenting qawwalis. Both programmes are being organized by the Union ministry of commerce in Delhi from Sep 10 to 12.

He said that Pakistan had been violating the ceasefire at the borders every now and then. Its hand in acts of terrorism in the country had also been confirmed. Besides, Pakistan gave shelter to don Dawood Ibrahim and his presence there had been proved beyond doubt. In addition to this, the scheduled meeting between national security advisers of both the country had been called off, he recalled.

In these circumstances, it was wrong to hold programmes highlighting that country, he stressed. Hence the programmes too should be called off to honour the memory of the country’s soldiers who had sacrificed their lives. If the government failed to do so, severe protests would be held all over the country, he added.

HJS district coordinator Vijayakumar and Sri Rama Sene’s Karnataka southern province vice president Kumar Malemar were present at the meet.
