Mangaluru: Hoax Bomb Call – Inquiry Continues as Confusion Prevails over Caller’s Age

Mangaluru: A young boy, who had made a prank call to the police control room saying that a bomb had been placed in the market, is being questioned by the police.

The boy, whose name has been withheld for possibly being underage, works for an egg supply firm in Ullal. While supplying eggs to the Kankanady market earlier this week, he is said to have used the landline of a trader to call the control room without the owner’s knowledge.

He was identified and taken into custody by the police. Prima facie he appeared to be a minor and since the offence was bailable in the station, he was sent back with the parents after being warned.

But as confusion over his age still coninues, the police are looking for his birth records in schools and elsewhere and they said that the inquiry would go on.
