Mangaluru: In Driver’s Effort to Avert Collision, Bus Overrides Median – Passengers Safe

Mangaluru: A Karnataka SRTC bus went over the median at Kollya on Sunday, when its driver attempted to avoid colliding with a vehicle from the opposite direction.

In view of the highway upgradation, two-way traffic had been arranged on the right-hand side of the dual carriageway. The bus was plying from Kasaragod towards Mangaluru.

When its driver suddenly spotted the vehicle, he swerved to the left, causing the bus to hit the median and cross over it.

All the passengers were safe. Traffic was affected for some time. A mechanical crane was requisitioned and the bus was shifted thus ensuring smooth flow of vehicles.
