Mangaluru: KACES to Offer 1600 Saplings Free during ‘Green Mangaluru Campaign’ on 13 June

Mangaluru: Addressing the media persons during the press meet held at Mangalore Press Club, Rev Dr F Anil Kumar- said, “Te Karnataka Christian Educational Society (KACES), Mangaluru, Special Economic Zone (MSEZ), Mangalore Senior Citizens Association and Aruna Nursery will jointly organize “Hasiru Mangaluru Abhiyaana’-“Green Mangaluru Campaign” on the 13th of June, 2015 at 9.30 in Bishop Jathanna Auditorium, KTC Balmatta-Mangaluru.”


He furthers said, “In the name of modernity and development we have been cutting the trees without realizing its impact for the future. Increase of population, deforestation and continuous plunder of natural resources has not only increased the stressed the mother earth but has also led to Climate Change. India is facing the brunt of climate change and will see severe scarcity of water resources and food-grain production if we do not act now. Keeping this reality in mind KACES, MSEZ Mangalore Senior Citizens Association and Aruna Nursery have come up with this Campaign to create awareness about the impact of climate change on all our lives.”

“The Hasiru Mangaluru Abhiyana is a small effort from our point to inspire people to commit themselves for this cause. In continuation of this program we will visit most of the Churches, Masjids, Temples Schools and Institutions and meet them personally and distribute plants. Most of the plants which are distributed are fruit bearing plants and also has commercial values. They help us to restore the water resources In the ground.Through this program 1600 sapling collected from various places will be freely distributed to the public.” he added.


On this occasion Mr. Manohar Prasad, the Chief Executive, Udayavani, Mangalore will inaugurate the program. Dinesh Nayak, MSEZ will deliver the Key note address and Rev. Dr. Honey Cabral Principal, Karnataka Theological College, Secretary, KACES will preside.

Rev Sandeep Theophil-PRO of KACES, Ramesh Rao- Secretary of Mangalore Senior Citizens Association, and Rev PC James- Lecturer at Karnataka Theological College-Balmatta were also present during the meet.
