Mangaluru: KKSV to hold ‘Sahabalve Sagara’ on January 30

Mangaluru: Karnataka Komu Sauharadha Vedike (KKSV) held a press meet at Hotel Woodlands here, on January 13.

Speaking to the mediapersons, Chief Secretary of KKSV, K L Ashok said, “Mahatma Gandhi, who fought for the freedom and communal harmony in India, was murdered on January 30. On this day Karnataka Komu Sauharadha Vedike will hold ‘Sahabalve Sagara,’ a national level meet at the Town Hall.” National leader of Swaraj Abhiyan, Yogendra Yadav, human rights activist, Thistha Setalvadh, Baraguru Ramachandrappa, Chandrashekar Patil, Panditaradhya Shivacharya Mahaswamiji will be the chief guests of the programme.

The meet will commence at 9:00 am in the morning and will conclude at 8:00 pm in the evening. There will be a special presentation by various cultural troupes of coastal Karnataka. Representatives of 15 states and 30 districts within Karnataka will participate in the meet. “Presentation about representatives of harmony and brotherhood like, Sri Narayana Guru, Rani Abbakka, Siri, Bappa Byari, Kudmul Ranga Rao will be held,” Ashok added.

“A welcome committee is formed which includes well known theatre artiste and director of ‘Guddedha Bhootha,’ a Kannada television series, Sadananda Suvarna as the Honorary President and Dr Srinivas Kakkillaya as the President”.

The 13-year-old organisation, KKSV was inaugurated on December 29, (On the birthday of Kuvempu). The organisation is a body of minorities, backward classes and organisations for Kannada, women, Dalits, farmers and various writers. The organisation follows principles of many saints and freedom fighters.

Chief Secretary of KKSV, Umar UH; State Secretary, K Paniraj and Secretary, Walter Maben were also present.
