Mangaluru: KSRTC Resumes Volvo Bus Service between City and Mumbai

Mangaluru: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) had discontinued its airconditioned Volvo bus service between Mangaluru and Mumbai since July 2 this year. Various reasons like lack of passengers and low collection were being cited for the step.

The buses plied through Moodbidri and Karkala routes which was beneficial to a large number of people from the interior areas of the two districts. Many preferred the KSRTC service for more courteous attitude of the staff. They were disappointed over the decision.

Now there is good news for such passengers. The service has been resumed with effect from July 27. Moreover, instead of the normal Volvo buses, multi-axle buses will ply on the route for the comfort of the passengers. The fare too is fixed at a competitive level to attract more people.

The one-way fare between the points for multi-axle service is Rs 1,200 and that between Mangaluru and Pune is Rs 1,150.
